Known more for her books about vampires, Anne Rice has returned to her Catholic roots giving us a most thoughtful novel about Christ's childhood. The book, while fiction, and presented in the words of the young Jesus who tells the story, is nevertheless based on respected New Testament scholarship, and is educational about Judaism and the times in which Christ, presented as both divine and human, grew up.
