|"If you are looking for a soft and engaging approach to Muslims, this gem of a sit-com like scenario in a Beirut Coffee shop is it. Beautifully crafted, the theme of the discovery of personal, heartfelt peace through an encounter with Jesus shines in the unfolding dialogue between these fascinating characters. DM
YEARNING FOR PEACE is a captivating story that touches the heart because it is written from a heart of love that yearns for Muslims to find the true peace many of them seek. It is a timely tool for breaking through the smog of misunderstanding and for overcoming the posture of censorious polemics that provokes unnecessary opposition from Muslims. It is written with deep insight and sensitivity while remaining faithful to the Gospel of Christ as the only remedy for the restlessness of the human heart. MH
The Author says:
What do Muslims yearn for? What are their deepest heart longings? To find out, I conducted a non-scientific, one-question survey; "If God were to communicate to you in a dream that he will grant you the deepest desires of your heart, what will you ask for?" With over 1300 responses, I have begun the task of addressing their major yearnings in several booklets as well as in electronic form.
The first one to be addressed is the yearning for peace, done in story form that takes place in Beirut, Lebanon. One of four friends who for years have been playing backgammon, drinking Turkish coffee, smoking hookas and solving the world's problems, begins with, "You won't believe the dream I had last night."
My appeal to the reader is "I don't expect you to agree with me on everything, but I do hope you will be curious enough to explore the possibility of having your deepest desires met through a relationship you may not have considered before. It will be a respectful, intellectual, philosophical, cultural and spiritual adventure that we can embark on together."
I encourage them to take a good look at Jesus.
